Melanie Conklin grew up in North Carolina and worked as a product designer before she began her writing career. She is the author of Counting Thyme, Every Missing Piece, A Perfect Mistake, Crushed (2024), and her debut picture book, When You Have to Wait (2024). Her books have won awards such as the International Literacy Association Teacher’s Choice Award, Bank Street Best Children’s Book, and nominations to six state reading lists. 1. Before I started writing, I was a product designer. I’ve designed some strange things: eye-wash stations, label makers, baby incubators, and pencil cups.

3. I hated middle school. My hair never cooperated, no matter how much hairspray I used!

Lucy Ruth Cummins is an author, illustrator, and art director of children’s books. Her author-illustrated books include “Stumpkin,” “Vampenguin,” and “Our Pool.” She is also the illustrator of “Truman,” written by Jean Reidy, and the author of “Sleepy Sheepy,” illustrated by Pete Oswald, among others. She lives with her little family in Brooklyn, New York.

I grew up Hudson NY.  I graduated from Hudson High in 1995.  I was the new york state rushing leader while attending Hudson.  I attended Dean junior college, Alfred st college and the University of Louisville.  I played football at each school. I also have an Associate, Bachelor, and Masters degrees.  I live in Fulton NY and currently I am married with 3 boys. This true story follows a young man’s journey as he battles back from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident.  From the vantage point of his wheelchair an NFL game on TV inspires him to dream the impossible.

Jennifer Castle grew up writing stories in her head on long school bus rides and was constantly looking for ways to turn her ideas into reality. Eventually, one of her “big ideas” became a published novel, and since then she has written twelve books for kids and teens, including Butterfly Wishes series, Together at Midnight, and Famous Friends.
